The History of Karaoke.

You may or may not know that KARAOKE originated in Japan, and it is a relatively new form of entertainment having only come on the scene in the 1980's.

The word "Karaoke" is a combination of two Japanese words the first being "karappo" which means empty, with the second word being "okesutura" which is the Japanese word for "orchestra", combine both halfs of both words Karappo & Okesutura and we get Karaoke, an "Empty Orchestra"
